On your phone

Your pairings, settings, shortcuts, saved Mac password (if you use fingerprint unlock) and the app’s random install id are all stored inside the app.

• Everything: uninstall Nightdesk, or go to Android Settings › Apps › Nightdesk › Storage › Clear storage.
• One Mac: remove it in the app. That deletes its key and its saved password.

On your Mac

Nightdesk for Mac keeps the list of phones it’s paired with and its settings on your Mac.

• One phone: remove it in Nightdesk’s window on the Mac.
• Everything: if you set up lid-closed mode, remove it in Nightdesk’s window first (or later, in Terminal: sudo rm /etc/sudoers.d/maccontrol). Then quit Nightdesk from the menu bar, drag it from Applications to the Trash, and delete the folder ~/Library/Application Support/MacControl (Nightdesk’s earlier name) and the file ~/Library/Preferences/com.codedrealities.maccontrol.host.plist.

Anonymous usage records

If you left Share anonymous usage on, our counter holds a few records linked to your app’s random install id, and daily totals that aren’t linked to anyone (see the privacy policy).

• Stop it: in the app, Settings › Privacy › Share anonymous usage. Nothing more is sent, and anything waiting to be sent is deleted.
• Let it expire: records linked to an install id are deleted automatically, at the latest 13 months after the app was last used.
• Delete it now: in the app, Settings › Privacy › Ask to delete writes the email for you, with your install id in it (or Copy my install id and email privacy@nightdesk.app). We’ll delete the records linked to that id within 30 days. We don’t know who you are, so we can only find them by that id.

Things we never had

The relay that links your phone and Mac away from home stores nothing. Your screen, keystrokes, clipboard and files are never sent to us. Purchases are kept by Google under your Google account; we never see your payment details. To manage those, see your Google account.
